Bicon Dental Implants Restorative Lab
3DL works with the full Bicon Dental Implants implant platform line. Custom abutments, screw-retained and cement-retained crowns, and implant bridges — designed to OEM tolerances with verified scan body compatibility. This page documents the implant lines we support, OEM and third-party scan body part numbers, CAD library coverage, and clinical considerations for Bicon cases.

Scan Body Compatibility
OEM Scan Body
Scannable Temporary Abutment / Thin Crestal Temporary Abutment (NOT a screw-retained scan body)

CRITICAL — Bicon's locking taper has no retention screw, so Bicon does NOT use a conventional scan body. Their digital workflow uses a Scannable Temporary Abutment (or a Thin Crestal Temporary Abutment) friction-seated onto the implant well. OEM Bicon part numbers were not surfaced; long numeric IDs (260-xxx-xxx) seen in resellers are third-party SKUs, not Bicon catalog numbers.

Clinical Notes & Considerations
- CRITICAL: Bicon's 1.5° locking taper connection has NO retention screw and NO anti-rotation feature. There is no traditional scan body. The digital workflow uses a Scannable Temporary Abutment or Thin Crestal Temporary Abutment that is friction-seated/tapped onto the implant well.
- The 360° universal abutment positioning means Bicon library workflow records position but does NOT carry rotational indexing the same way an indexed connection does — workflow design is driven by the temporary abutment, not by an internal hex/lobe.
- Crown/abutment fabrication often uses Integrated Abutment Crowns (IAC) — single-piece, no separate Ti-base needed.
- Standard third-party 'scan body' SKUs may not exist for Bicon, or behave differently. Always confirm scan abutment vs. scan body terminology when ordering.
3DL Workflow for Bicon Dental Implants Cases
- Identify the component before submission. Call (248) 919-7929 or message through the doctor portal — 3DL verifies the Bicon implant line, platform diameter, and the correct scan body family at no charge.
- Scan with any major IOS. Upload the scan through the doctor portal. 3DL confirms receipt the same day and validates the scan body capture before any milling begins.
- 3DL designs in matched pairs. Custom abutment and final crown are designed together so the emergence profile of the abutment supports the crown's gingival contour exactly.
- Mill, finish, ship. Custom titanium or zirconia abutment plus final crown ship together in 7 to 10 business days. Verification jig included on request.
